Botanical Art Class

Treat yourself to two hours of art indulgence under the tutelage of talented botanic artist Sandra Johnston.

Dive deep into the beauty of the botanical at The Cedars, the estate of revered Australian landscape painter Sir Hans Heysen. This property inspired two of Australia’s most famous painters – Hans Heysen and artist daughter Nora Heysen – the first female to win the Archibald prize. Come and immerse yourself in the same stunning environment that inspired their award-winning works and create your own masterpiece.

Treat yourself to two hours of art indulgence, discovering the detail of gum leaves and blossom with artists’ coloured pencils. Under the tutelage of talented botanic artist Sandra Johnston you will develop your own creative skills and leave the class with your own frame-worthy artwork.

Art materials to be provided, although participants are welcome to bring their own Artists’ quality coloured pencils.

Your ticket to this event also grants you access to the beautiful artist’s garden at the Cedars, so why not make a day of it and plan to arrive early or linger after your class, bring a picnic and enjoy the gardens and surrounds?
