The Hahndorf Main Street is overflowing with German-style sweet stores, each with their own unique and tasty fudge flavours. From the classic caramel fudge to the unbelievable bubble-gum and fairy floss fudge—there’s a flavour of fudge for everyone.
And, the best bit you can walk off some of the deliciousness as you enjoy a stroll down Main Street.
Stop 1 – Humbugs of Hahndorf
This should be your first stop on your Hahndorf fudge finding mission. First open in 1998, Humbugs of Hahndorf is the original sweets store in the village and specialises in all things fudgey and yummy with over 45 delicious flavours.
They offer free daily tastings, with staff handpicking their own favourite flavours to show to visitors. The most popular include the classic caramel fudge, chocolate macadamia fudge, and their Baileys fudge. The shop also caters for those who identify as a chocoholic, with a special range of South Australian chocolate covered fudge. Humbugs also pride themselves on having gluten-free fudge so all visitors can indulge in the delicious local treat.

Stop 2 – Hahndorf Sweets
Let your inner child run wild by visiting the traditional Hahndorf Sweets. Situated inside an 1853 German style cottage, the shop invites visitors to take ‘a trip down memory lane’ with its warm, vintage charm of an old fashioned sweets store.
The shop has a wide range of Hahndorf fudge, with its Cherry Ripe fudge and Irish cream fudge, both strong favourites among locals and international visitors. Free tastings are also on offer.

Stop 3– The Fudge Shop Hahndorf
If your sweet tooth is still kicking, The Fudge Shop Hahndorf is set to surprise your now well-developed fudge palate.
With classic favourites, caramel, chocolate and vanilla fudge, this shop has something for the slightly more daring… their popular chilli chocolate fudge. You have been warned, it packs a punch!
Or take home their Australiana flavours, Tim Tam, Vegemite sandwich, lamington, vanilla slice and even lavender – for a true blue experience. Or, sweet tooth’s rejoice over jam donut, toffee apple, and sherbet. With over 40 flavours to choose from your taste buds will be tingling with excitement.

Stop 4 – Treats of Hahndorf
Last but certainly not least on our fudge favourite list is Treats of Hahndorf. A family affair, they have 20 different styles of their handmade fudge, including their crowd favourite Gran’s Fudge. This creation was first made from owner Sharon’s great, great grandmother!
Not just a fudge shop though, the shop has everything from holiday souvenirs to lollies, nicknacks and knitted scarves.
