The Cedars – Hans Heysen

The Cedars at Hahndorf, home of the renowned Australian artist, Sir Hans Heysen, continues to gain acknowledgement as one of the country’s most intact and best preserved historic homes. The famous chalet style studio has recently been identified as the Nation’s oldest surviving purpose built artist’s studio (1912) while the homestead has a grace and charm that speaks of the style of a bygone era. The homestead welcomes visitors to enjoy the beautiful sights and history of Sir Hans Heysen. Proceeds of ticket sales for Tours and retail sales contribute towards the maintenance of the house, studios and property.

Open Tuesday to Sunday 10am – 4:30pm and public holiday Mondays.

Tours of the Heysen home are held at 11am and 2pm, bookings are strongly advised.
