When thinking fashion, we bet Hahndorf is not the first place that pops into your head. But, did you know that there are 30+ shops, boutiques and designers working in our beautiful village that will have you dressed in style and turning heads?!
We’ll go as far as to say that east of Adelaide, Hahndorf is somewhat of a hot spot when it comes to seriously stunning fashion and accessories.
Just to put that in perspective… Hahndorf has 30+ shops and galleries offering fashion, footwear and accessories. Burnside Village has approximately 35 fashion-focused retailers, Adelaide Arcade has roughly 30+ shops, North Adelaide Village has under 10 fashion boutiques, and the Adelaide Hills town of Stirling and Unley Shopping Centre has about 12 (including optical).

2. Alpaca Shop
This shop has the softest stuff! Alpaca is known as the fibre of the gods, and after you visit this woolly shop you will understand why! A beautiful and large range of alpaca products made in Australia and Peru. Alpaca jumpers, jackets, scarves, beanies, hats, gloves, socks, slippers, baby items and home décor.

3. Australian Opal Company
Don’t let the display of humorous aprons out the front, if rare gemstones make your eyes sparkle with excitement take a peek in here. They know their stuff, in fact, they run their own underground opal mine in Coober. You can watch their staff cutting opal and making elegant Australian sapphire jewellery through a glass-walled workshop inside their shop.
4. Bags Direct
Bags Direct is Hahndorf’s handbag and Luggage specialists, with over 30 years experience in the selection of quality handbags, suitcases, travel bags, wallets, purses and various other goods. With frequent new stock, there is always something new for visiting customers. They also have a fabulous umbrella selection.
5. Bamfurlong Fine Crafts
When most people think of craft they rarely think of fashion, but the accessories at Bamfurlong are truly one of a kind. Each item of leather, textiles, fibre and semi-precious and silver jewellery is a statement piece made by an Australian designer.
6. Birkenstock in the Hills
A true mecca for lovers of Birkenstock shoes and super comfy styles of footwear including shoes, sandals, slippers, boots and thongs. They stock the widest range of authentic Birkenstocks and various other European brands.

7. Blacksheep Hahndorf
This lovely git and homewares shop also stocks some unique Australian made jewellery and the eucalyptus clutch bags, Just stunning! Always getting in new items, definitely worth a look when trying to find that something special.
8. Blue Belle Boutique Hahndorf
With super helpful and friendly service, this boutique is one of the most popular in Hahndorf with both women and their pooches – free Schmackos treat for all furbabies here. For head toe complete dressing and accessories, Blue Belle Boutique has ladies fashion including smart casual, special occasion, mother of the bride, and after five wear.

On trend with a bohemian spirit, Boho Gypsy Belle offers a stunning array of affordable and exciting BOHO fashion. A forest of colours and patterns and a fabulous selection of styles for a range of sizes too. 10. Bukartilla
Bukartilla is the local Peramangk Aboriginal word for a waterhole or a nearby creek. It was a gathering place. Bukartilla now represents a meeting place for collectors from around the world. Bukartilla comprises a number of companies involved in the collection and retailing of many types of ‘natural history’ and they have a particular fondness for precious opal, this being Australia’s National Gemstone. Well worth a visit to see their beautiful collection of gemstone jewellery from ammolite to zoisite.
11. Camellia Country Cottage
Camellia Country Cottage is a co-operative of 14 local people each with their own unique talents. They provide a wide range of hand-crafted products, including baby clothes, felt crafted accessories and handmade jewellery. This is a delightful shop that supports local artists and craftspeople.
12. Christian Care & Share
When looking for that perfect outfit, don’t disregard the local op-shop! If you have a keen eye for sustainable fashion and love unique affordable pieces, the op-shop is a great place to start. You never know what bargain is hiding on the rack. Or consider making a donation if you a buying something new.

Great bohemian inspired clothing, accessories and gifts this boutique is the sister of Colour Door just a few hundred metres down the down.

This is a fun and interesting antique market in Hahndorf. They sell just about anything intriguing from antique furniture, china, bric-a-brac, books, retro items, industrial stuff, old costume jewellery and really cool vintage clothing. They are always buying so if you have any vintage, collectable or interesting items you can either bring them into the store and see if you can sell them.

A fashion and homewares boutique relatively new to Hahndorf. Beautiful relaxed country fashion and accessories.
17. Jack and Sarah
Here is where you will find some of your favourite brands and homewares for you and your little ones. 19. Leathersmith & Bush Gallery
Established over 30 years ago by John and Jenny Graham, the Leathersmith and Bush Gallery is one of the longest trading and most iconic businesses on the Hahndorf Main Street. The family business is now managed by John and Jenny’s son Sebastian, who is joined by Sam the leathersmith. The shop is unique in atmosphere, with hospitality that would be welcomed in the building’s origins as a simple pub. The warming fire, welcoming glass of port and a friendly smile make visitors feel at home and relaxed. Here you’ll find belts, jackets, hats, bags and much more.

This gallery is honoured to be custodians of some of the most magical works of Aboriginal art from the Central and Western deserts of Australia. Yes, it’s an art gallery, but if you are looking for a truly authentic Australian fashion statement, they also sell artwork scarves, fabric, accessories and even sunglass cases.
